Assessment and Examinations lead us to the understanding of the student and how far we have achieved our stated objectives of teaching & learning at school. It is important that the knowledge that is delivered is used effectively by children as productive and to be responsible citizens of the world. Further it is crucial that the student is able to use the knowledge in comprehending, understanding, applying, analyzing and evaluating real life situations. Keeping this in mind, the school has well planned assessments throughout the year. The formal examination practices for evaluation are followed as below:

Assessment Techniques for CBSE Classes III to X.

1. Two Semester System: Annual Examination (Board Exam for Class X ) will take place at the end of the session covering the complete syllabus.
2. Primary Classes I & II will have periodic monthly tests and assessments in Languages, Mathematics, EVS/Science throughout the year.

3. Scholastic Area:
i. Students will be graded on a 9-point grading scale.
ii. Final Result will comprise the marks of Annual Examination (Board Exam for Class 10th) – 80 Marks and Internal Assessment – 20 Marks.
iii. Annual Examination (Board Exam for Class 10th) will be conducted of 80 Marks in which students need to secure 33% (27 Marks)
iv. Internal Assessment comprises of Periodic Tests (10 Marks), Notebook Maintenance (5 Marks) and Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks) out of which student need to secure 33% (7 Marks).

4. Internal Assessment:
a) Periodic Tests need to be conducted thrice a year including the portion cumulatively.
b) Periodic Tests can be conducted out of 50 Marks and average of the best two out of 10 will be added in the Internal Assessment.

d) Notebook Maintenance can be assessed before the end of each term based on the following parameters.
a. Regularity b. Assignment Completion c. Neatness and upkeep of Notebook
e) Subject Enrichment Activities: will comprise of techniques like ASL/ Reading/Dictation/Debate/Public Speaking etc. for languages, Lab activities/Projects/Map Work/Model Making/Field Trips etc. which need to be conducted thrice a year.
f) Sixth additional subject ( For class VI to class X only) ICT /Elements of Business / Arabic.


3. Co-Scholastic Area:
i. Co-Scholastic activities will be assessed on a 5 point grading scale by the concerned teacher framing effective tools for the same.
ii. Grading will not have any descriptive indicators and students will not be upgraded based on the co-scholastic grades.
iii. Co-scholastic area will cover Work Education/Pre Vocational Education/Art Education/Health and Physical Education.
4. Students will be graded by the class teachers for discipline in a 5-point grading scale considering the attendance, sincerity, behaviour and values.
5. Internal assessment evidences should be maintained for a period of 3 months from the date of declaration of result for verification.

CBSE Board Examination System

The CBSE conducts certification examination for classes X and XII for in the month of March of every year and awards grade certifications in Secondary (X) and Senior Secondary School (XII) leaving Certificate. These certifications reflect the final achievement in percentile scores and corresponding grades shown on a 9 point grading scale as shown below. The results are declared in May/June every year. The CBSE class XII certification is acceptable for admission in Colleges and Universities all over the world.

CLASSES XI & XII
Subjects offered: English Core, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science (C++), Info. Practices, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy and Entrepreneurship.
Rules for Change of Subject:
(i) Change of subject(s) in class XI may be allowed by the Head of the School but not later than 31 June of the academic session.
(ii) No candidate shall be permitted to change his subject of study after passing Class XI.
(iii) The candidate shall not offer a subject in Class XII which he has not studied and passed in class XI.

Attendance Requirement:
All students are required to complete 75% of attendance to make him/her eligible to take the examination.

Promotion to Next Higher Class
Every student is required to get a qualifying grade D or above in all the subjects as per scheme of study for the purpose of promotion to next class. It is mandatory to appear in all periodic and weekly round assessments held during the academic year.

Scheme of Examinations and Pass Criteria for Examination Classes

(I) CBSE Senior School Certificate Examination: XII
(II) CBSE Secondary School Examination: Class X
(i) The Board conducts examination in all subjects except General Studies, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education, which will be assessed internally by the school.
(ii) In all subjects examined by the Board, a student will be given one paper each carrying 100 marks for 3 hours. However, in subjects requiring practical examination, there will be a theory paper and practical examinations as required in the syllabi.
(iii) In Work experience, General Studies and Physical and Health Education, the School will maintain cumulative records of student’s periodical achievements and progress during the year.
(iv) In order to be declared as having passed the examination, a candidate shall obtain a grade D or higher (i.e. at least 33% marks) in all the five subjects of external examination in the main or at the end of the compartmental examination. The pass marks in each subject of external examination shall be 33%. In case of a subject involving practical work, a candidate must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to qualify in that subject. All Classes Up to X: Internal Assessment (20 marks)

The various components of assessments will include the following:
Quarterly Periodic Tests (10 Marks): Written examinations in all Subjects of the curriculum each quarterly covering the syllabus covered cumulatively in each quarter including weekly round test performance.
Note book submission (5 Marks): Seriousness and positive attitude in preparing notes for the subject topics as directed by the teacher, Regularity and attendance, Assignment completion, Upkeep of note book, Evidence of weekly assessment records.
Subject specific Enrichment activities (5 Marks): Effective Speaking and Listening Skills, Practical Lab work, Map book and project work, Mental Mathematics, Olympiads, Quizzing, Science Projects, Science Talk, Power point presentation, Creative activities in the subject etc.
